あのTerry Richardsonの弟子で2007年に日本に帰国。

世界を股にかけるファッションフォトグラファー・Keiichi Nitta（新田桂一）による『100K』は、マリリン・モンローやブルース・リー、あるいはチャップリンに扮装した彼が自らを撮り収めるという “変装セルフポートレート” をテーマに現在進行形で進められているプロジェクトだ。それぞれの著名人に扮しながらも、合間合間で見え隠れする彼の全身に入ったタトゥー、あるいは彼ならではの爆裂ポージングが、これらを単純な扮装で留めることなく面白く仕上げている。アジア人でココまで自分をさらけ出せるアーティストもそうそういないだろう。
　今回、その記念すべき第２回の展示が〈BEAMS T HARAJUKU〉及び大阪の〈BEAMS STREET SHINSAIBASHI〉にて発表される。第１回目の展示を見逃したキミのために、今回の展示では過去の作品も合わせて展示予定だ。見逃すなよ。ちなみに今回の展示に合わせ、〈BEAMS T〉では限定Ｔシャツを多数リリース予定。この限定Ｔシャツを着て、Keiichiのパワーを取り込もう。

２年前にご一緒させてもらいました。本当にパワフルな方で僕より若いです。

〈アートコンビニエンスストア〉が伊勢丹新宿店にオープン。
メインとなるのは、ファッションとアートのコラボレーションによる作品だ。＜ゴヤール＞×『ヴィジョネアー』によるバックナンバー全50冊セットに始まり、＜ナイキ＞×＜ヴィンティアンドリュース＞による《Air Max 犬》など、何かと話題をさらう仕掛け人たちによる作品が多数。さらにはほしのあきや、フランスのミュージシャン、ジャスティスなども参加するというから、こんな多彩なメンツが絡み合って、何だかワラワラととんでもないことになっている。
今回、伊勢丹が仕掛けた新しい試み＝「アート」と「コンビニ」という、一見かけ離れた現象同士がフィットしたのだろう。
また、伊勢丹バイヤーの小濱勇人とともにこのイベントのディレクションを手がけたのは、青山に〈IN THE POLICY OF TRUTH〉をオープンさせ、〈ラブレス〉ヘッドコーチを務めた吉井雄一。常に変わりつづける楽しさと新しい価値観を生み続けるファッションカルチャー界の雄が見せつけてくれた。網が仕掛けられ、それをじっくりと引き寄せる時、今まで見たことのない形の生物が引っかかっている。そんな驚きを外野であろうともやっぱり見たいなのだ。
